Benjamin Apple MD, FAAP

Dr. Apple graduated from Carson-Newman University in 2005, majoring in biology and psychology with a minor in German. He attended Medical School at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he was named an Albert Hand Scholar; he followed that with an internship and residency at Children's Hospital Colorado. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and completed a fellowship in Medical and Biochemical Genetics in 2018. As of June 2019, Dr. Apple is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is also a member of the Mountain States Regional Genetics Network, the Society of Inherited Metabolic Disorders, and the American College of Medical Genetics. Prior to joining APA in March of 2018, Dr. Apple worked in urgent care at National Jewish. His pediatric interests include primary care for children with special healthcare needs, developmental delay and intellectual disability evaluation and management, foster care, and mental health. His personal interests include woodworking, reading, fishing, traveling, music, and movies. Dr. Apple and his wife, Kari, have three children: Miles, Wilson, and Madison.
